asapscience is the science teacher you wish you’d had in high school.

It didn’t take long for the world to fall in love with Mitchell Moffit and Gregory Brown, the heart and soul of AsapSCIENCE. In the two years since launching their channel, Moffit and Brown have done the impossible: Making science fun.

Now, with 2.7 million subscribers and 95 videos under their belt, the Toronto-based pair have become two of the most prominent science educators on YouTube.

Moffit and Brown were always passionate about both art and science and met while pursuing degrees in biology at University of Guelph. But beyond their love for the subject, Moffit and Brown always wanted to make science exciting for their friends who had no interest in labs, research paper, or the anatomy of a cell.

Inspired by RSA Animate, Moffit and Brown combined their two passions and took to YouTube to make science accessible to the everyday person. Their channel covers a little bit of everything, from the science of orgasms to zombies to the effects of sleep deprivation, and have led to major collaborations with educators such as Bill Nye.

Six months ago, the pair launched a companion channel to AsapSCIENCE titled AsapThought. Here, each video inspires a conversation about such things as the fate of humans, art, and the ecosystem.

But in my opinion, one of the most important videos the pair has ever uploaded is titled “Coming Out Twice.” In the segment, Moffit and Brown announce they’re not only openly proud gay people, but openly proud gay people who love science!

This video, along with the footprint they’re leaving on YouTube, reinforces the idea that the best lesson a creator can teach is to pursue the things that you love while being true and proud of who you are.

Follow AsapSCIENCE on YouTube for weekly videos answering your burning science questions — Does sex affect athletic performance? We all want to know! — and on Twitter for science trivia! Trust me, you’re about to become a whole lot smarter pretty damn fast.

I have this #illustration pending from past year, and I sometimes find a bit of time to work on it. Still left a lot of work to do here, but I really love the time spent on it. This will be a tee design. Baroque Medusa! #art #design #medusadollmaker #medusa #tattoo #period #blackandwhite #tee #traditional #pen #watercolors

An amazing catch of the infamous fair lady herself…luv it!

Letting go of the pragmatic world is the beginning of your journey to freedom mentally, spiritually and physically..it is when one can let go of attachments that one is totally free..there is no barrier to human achievement as it is entirely mental..
